Hip Hexagons

Hi. I'm Ashley. I work in the product department here at Stampin' Up!, and today I want to show you an out-of-the-box way to utilize a few of our products. Here’s the project that I’d like to share:

Let me begin with a little story. My sister, Amy, and I were driving home when suddenly she screamed, "Stop!” She had spotted a yucky, old side table on the side of the road that was about to be discarded; it had a pretty neat shape (if I do say so myself)! So we took this little beauty home, sanded it, and gave it some paint. This is what it looked like after our elbow grease.

I knew that I wanted to deck this table out, and I also knew that our Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper would look amazing on the tabletop. (Note: this Designer Series Paper is going away soon, so if you love it as much as I do, you might want to stock up!) I also knew that I wanted to mimic the shape of the table, so I opted to use our Hexagon Punch.
Then came the easy part: I simply adhered the Designer Series Paper hexagons using Mod Podge. Here is what it my tabletop looked like as it began to take shape:

After I finished covering my tabletop with a million hexagons (there were A LOT of hexagons!), I applied a thin coat of polyurethane and let it dry. VoilĂ ! My sister now owns a super-cute tabletop done Stampin' Up! style. Here is a close-up:

And here is one more look at my darling hexagon table:

How do you use Stampin' Up! products in new and interesting ways? Tell us about it in the comment section below!
