Paper Patchwork #2

I was blog-surfing the other day and found Marelle Taylor's thINKspot blog and THIS card.

This got me thinking of using all the leftover pieces of DS Paper I have lying around, waiting for that 'special' project.

I've got to stop holding on to them and start using them!! :)

Here's a couple of different versions using the same patchwork pattern with the Spice Cake & Cheerful Treat papers.

Do you hoard pretty things?
Which is your preferred colour scheme?

Thanks for coming by,

It's a Wrap!

Here's an idea for packaging those little 'thank you' or 'just because' gifts.
I've cut the largest Scallop Square from Pool Party cardstock using the Big Shot, and cut a coordinating piece of Spice Cake DS Paper to fit inside this.

Fold it over the chocolates (or what-have-you :) ) and secure at the top with a piece of ribbon. This is the Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon.

I've added a few tag punches and attached them with Bakers Twine.

Thanks for popping in :)

Vintagey type cards

I just loved Shelli's card HERE that I tried one out for myself....and couldn't stop at just one!

Vintagey cards don't have to be complicated or fiddly.

I've used the Fresh Vintage & Teeny Tiny Sentiment Stamp sets.

Cardstock is Crumb Cake and Early Espresso & DS Papers 'Everyday Enchantment' and 'Spice Cake'

There's a bit of Spritzer happening, Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon, White Bakers Twine and In colour brads.

Punches used were the Scallop Circle punch & the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border.

Thanks for stopping in !

Have a superb weekend :)

Rosette Medallion

Am a bit slow on the 'uptake' this week!  :)

More embossing and another rosette!

This rosette is done the 'old fashioned' way - just wait til next month and I can reveal the new beaut easy way!

I used the Spice Cake DS Papers from the Summer Mini for this -
only 2 1/2 weeks til the Summer Mini ends!

Colours are Soft Suede and Pool Party

I got inspiration for this blog-surfing a while back - unsure of the original creator.

Let me know if you want more instructions for this card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Chicken

If this card looks familiar, maybe it is!  See page 29 of the IB&C...this is my version of it for a recent inhome class.

We played with heat embossing and made the paper rosette - that takes patience!  But all the girls persevered with the fiddly project and had great results.

Cardstock:  Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso coral, Confetti White
Stamp:  Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Everybunny
Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark
Paper: Everyday Enchantment (Sale-a-bration product)
Embossing:  Embossing Buddy, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Other:  Lucky Limeade Ruffled ribbon, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Remember it's the last month to snaffle up the great Sale-a-bration products!

Thanks for stopping by  - I love your comments!

If you don't celebrate St Patrick's day, then Easter is the next holiday on the 'Celebrate' calendar.

Here's a quick punch art card using the sentiment from the 'Everybunny' stamp set.

Cardstock: Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Confetti White
Ink: Soft Suede
Punches:  Butterfly punch (feet),  Wide Oval (body), 1 3/8" Circle (head), Small Oval (ears...substitute new small oval), Boho Blossoms & Itty Bitty punch pack (tail)

Gotta love punch art - it's easy even for the kidlets to give it a go.

Cards in a Snap

Stampin' Up!'s Simply Sent card making kits are ideal for the beginning crafter, or a quick 'go-to' if you need that card in the mail yesterday!

The examples pictured are from the 'Everyday Elegance' kit.

These card kits have been terrific for the times I haven't had the time to make a card from scratch and am too proud to go buy one from the newsagent!!  :)

The kits come with 8 printed and embossed cards, 8 envelopes, and accessories such as die-cut stickers or ribbons/buttons/pearls.

Check out the 3 Kits available from pages 136-137 of the Idea Book & Catalogue.

Which kit is your favourite?

Hope your weekend's going well - tis a bit wet here at present...thoughts to our NSW peoples who are enduring more than just a little wet!
